My 1980 oldsmobile cutless Brougham

I recently purchased a 1980 Cutlass
Brougham 4 door from a guy for a little of
nothing he told me that he added a timing
chain but the timing was off on it and the
chain was loose a little and that it needed a
carburetor he also said that when he got the
car that when he tried to turn over the car it
would start what could be wrong with the
car need help someone.
