Never heard of putting food products into a cars cooling system, are you kidding me? A couple of things here, There are products out there that are very inexpensive, $10. bucks or less to seal minor leaks. Unfortunately, allowing your motor to continue to get hot is causing more damage than what you are prepared to pay for. The block and heads are made of aluminum and it don't take much to warp the heads causing the head gaskets to leak. Also if the motor had gotten hot several times you need to be sure in bleeding the air out of the system by adding coolant and letting it run while the radiator cap is off and adding fluid as needed when the thermostat opens up. At this point of where your at, I would try adding what is called Bars Leak. Not sure what the egg will do if it will hamper this product from working, You may just have to park the car until it gets repaired.
Throw in some pancake mix and maple syrup and I might come over for breakfast, lol. In all seriousness the egg thing can work. It all depends on the size of the leak and where it's coming from. Overheating is serious, you wouldn't break your leg and continue walking on it. You gotta get it fixed. I usually find the stop leaks clogging things they arnt supposed to.
