It has a timing chain.
Thankyou very much, also where about is it situated?
It is situated inside the front of the engine which is on the passenger side under the hood.
Thought you might be over your head commenting on a Ford. LOL Top of the evening to you sir.
I have had a look, the only thing that looks similar is in the pic, and it looks like a belt, not a chain
That there is the serpentine belt. The timing chain is under the cover behind the pulleys.
Your welcome, Bob is a grumpy old man...lol
I have double checked and the year of the car is a 2003, does this still have a timing chain?
Can anyone tell me if the 2003 CL ford focus has a timing chain or belt please
Tammie, if u have the 2.3 engine, it has a timing chain. If it's 2.0, it's a timing belt
For the 2003. The 2008 is a chain
like Irodri911 said, 2.3L has a timing chain, the 2.0L has a timing belt.
I don't show where there is a 1.8L engine in a 2003 Ford Focus, but because of the size of the engine I would say it has a timing belt.
This car is not in the USA.
Same as the Mazda L engine. The Ford 1.8 in Europe has a chain driven valve train. There is no timing belt to worry about.
