No acceleration suddenly

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

No acceleration suddenly.  While navigating around
a parking lot my car suddenly stopped accelerating
when I push the gas so I backed it up into a parking
space because reverse it was fine. It just started out
of the blue, when I started the car about an hour
later it worked fine, what's up with that?

You may be suspecting it's the transmission but if it's the engine hesitating, it might be the electronic gas pedal. This sends an electrical signal to the engine to go when you step on the gas. Check for loose, dirty, corroded connections. They can simply wear out too. I hope this helps.

It was the throttle body sensor... the good people at Ford / Lincoln in Roseville figured it out
