Asked by buckeye2gator Sep 08, 2016 at 08:23 PM about the 2008 Toyota RAV4

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced a battery but flipped positive with
negative & blew the 120 alt amp. I have corrected
everything but now the car will crank but wont
start. Did I blow the alt?

I think you still have a blown fuse or fusible link some where still. Check looking for blown fuses at the under dash fuse block and under hood fuse block

switching the pos to neg on the battery without the engine running has no effect on the alt.The issue is a Blown fuse somewhere in the starting system. Between the coil that runs to the spark plug. Issues maybe between the coil and the ignition module...
