What could be causing a grinding sound whenever the car is turning?
Here the back story. While driving home from school one day, her car hit a
bump and she heard a loud crack and some grinding sounds. She made it
home safely, but when backing into a parking stall, her tire blew out. When
I got home, I realized it was the Strut coil spring that snapped and when
reversing, the edge punctured the tire and caused the blow out. Now I
know GM's are known for this, and the repair is not difficult at all (already
replaced the back two with the full kits from the auto shop), so we decided
it was time to replace both front ones with Monroe Quick-Strut complete
assemblies, (basically the same as the back two). After replacing these,
the car drives much smoother, but now when turning there is a slight
grinding noise that is starting to show up more often. Any idea on what
else could have been damaged or needing replaced? If I can get an idea
of what it is without having to pay a mechanic an arm and a leg, and can
replace it myself it is preferred. Thanks In Advance!
