How do I check the transmission oil when the dipstick is locked? Also can I have the trans oil changed anywhere, or does the dealer have to do it

You can go to your favorite mechanic and he'll do it. For your dipstick, you could try to rotate it. It may unblock it.

As far as the dipstick being lock.I saw a video, in which you need a flat head screw driver, and and press or push on the tab.On the left side of the filler tube.Your left ad you are facing the engine.

My Nissan Altima 2013 it was jerking and driving 5 miles an hour. I took it to the dealership had a recall on the transmission sensor and they claim they fixed it and when I throw it away it's not acting worse than it did before. I took it back to them and they tell me I need a new transmission

There is no transmission dipstick on 2013-2015 Nissan Sentra. It does have a very short metal tube, which has a click lock cap. It can be located if you stand in front of the open engine compartment on the drivers side. Look down at the transmission, approx a foot to the right of the engine and six to eight inches in from the outer edge of the trans, below the battery area.. You will see a short metal tube coming straight up and out of the transmission. In previous models it was located in the same area but the tube was longer and the cap could be unlocked and actually had a metal dipstick. The dipstick was deleted in 2013 models and up. If you need your level checked, you should take it to your Nissan Dealership for service.
