Grease leak from sliding door.

Question type: General

I recently have had a good amount of grease leak from the sliding door panel.  My wife said she opened the window earlier and noticed the grease come from where the door panel meets the metal door.  She said it came from the top of the door near the window.  What could cause this?  Is this a potential problem?

This is probably grease from the upper track rail, the grease gets a little soupy with age and from opening and closing the door, would not hurt to have it cleaned and put new greases in it to prevent damage to the rollers and bearings.

Ok. I failed to mention this was a 2008 Toyota Sienna. I guess this is a common thing. Is this something I can grease myself or something the dealership will have to do? I have read a lot about sliding doors going out and costing people over $1000.00
