I have a 2008 boxster, dead battery, tried to "jump" the fuse panel with the door hinge as negative, got no spark and with a full charged lithium ion battery can not open the hood (s) has anyone else

Remove the pass side front wheel and peel back the plastic fender liner after removing a few fasteners at the front. The hood release is under the headlight.
