How to get front hood open with dead battery and alarm set

I parked the car in my garage with alarm activated via remote. The battery went dead and now when power is connected so hood can be opened to access battery for charging, the alarm goes off and it appears the hood wont open with the alarm set. We have tried several of the suggestions except for removing light tire as the wheel well is one big piece. Any suggestions?

You could try to connect the power and use the key in the drivers side door to unlock / deactivate the alarm then try the hood release. also it might deactivate with the keyfob itself. The only other way will be the removale of the wheel and wheel well liner. Let me know what you end up doing and if the key deactivates the alarm. Good luck

Key in the door did not reset the alarm for my car. Only The remote did. The factory instructions are incorrect for my 2002 Bonxter S.
