Did you notice if your anti theft light was flashing? There is a relay you will need to check out. If you know nothing about cars, you may want to have someone help you out. The starter relay, also known as the theft deterrent relay, is in the passenger side dash board, a few inches above and to the left of the glove box, basically behind the passenger side air vent. You will need to remove the glove box and an air tube from the firewall to the vent. The relay is a 2 inch cube, with yellow incoming wires, purple out. Can test with voltmeter. You should have power at yellow wires and a ground on the yellow and black wire with key in start position and a constant ground at purple wire. If not, replace relay. You may also have a bad neutral safety switch or bad ignition module. Try these tests in this video..................................... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpPOcO6f798
not to start anything here...but i repaired a car that (when turned off) the engine would stop at the same place on the flywheel where it made contact with the starter...when jumping the extra amps helped push it past this are...does is click down there? in your question-what is doesnt crank?

You may want to check alternator voltage when you get vehicle running to make sure it's charging because I have put on brand new alternators and the were bad and some alternators have a fuse that also blows when the old alternator goes bad.
Yes I have a 1999 chevy lumina and with a new starter and new alternator but the car isn't cranking nor it starting. The Volts light, and oil light is on I've had the battery charged yesterday with 690 cold crank amps. And still no power to crank start. Would it be possible that the battery isn't putting out enough power to support 1999 chevy lumina. And also does the starter meeds to be straighten for power to connect to both the battery and alternator. Please help with this situation
I replaced the igintion module on my 97 chevy lumina it was bad. So i replaced it and still no crank or start.
