Car won't start or jump

Asked by Tltb3333 Feb 12, 2017 at 07:35 PM about the Chevrolet Lumina

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1998 chevy lumina. I have new coil packs, new
spark plugs and wires, new battery. Everything
done about a month ago and was running great.
Now won't start or even jump. Completely dead.
When I turn the key it does nothing, no sounds, no
lights or dashboard lights. When we try to jump it
the dashboard lights come on but it just clicks and
won't start!

I don't have a Lumina, but I had the same problem with my 2002 PT Cruiser just a few days ago. I called AAA and the technician got it started by giving the starter several solid whacks with a metal bar. The car started right up! My car had spent most of its life in Indiana, so there must have been some rust or corrosion that kept it from turning over. Also, we've had some rainy weather lately that might have contributed to the problem. Try thumping on your starter and see if your car will start.
