If you can't afford to take the car to a mechanic. Your could explain the situation at the local Chevy dealer parts department. They would probably be able to tell you what's wrong. If it's not something easy to fix, you might try calling a local technical school in your area and see if they let students repair the problem under teacher supervision for free or a very low rate.

sound like your security system has kick in to protect the car from being stolen....is there a cut off butten under the dash? if yes you will have to deactivate it by pressing that butten or try unlocking your doors only with the remote keys to reset it. or Deatership....LayDee511

The battery in the key is dead and the chip is not connecting to your computer take the key to a parts store or dealer and have the battery replaced
