i have a 1997 suburban tranmission problems

Asked by chicogetz May 17, 2012 at 10:16 AM about the 1997 Chevrolet Suburban

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

First issue: driving 1 day and trans downshifts from overdrive to second or third, then won't upshift. Shut it off
then it would only go into reverse, first and third?  Second issue: I changed trans fuse and checked all plug ins on
trans then it started to run perfect. 2 days later I now have nothing, no forward gears or reverse? Fluid is good,
fuse is good. Could it be the computer?

Sounds to me like you need your PCM read by a trans shop because it sounds like a control issue to me.
