If the motor turns over but doesn't start, you need 3 things: Air, Fuel, Fire. Check for spark at the plug wire and fuel pressure (38 - 55psi) at the injector fuel rail schrader valve. If both check out, let me know and we'll go further.
Like chris was saying check for fire. The hall effect in those which is the cap and rotor assmbly. Part of the distibuter are famous for going out. They are expensive but is a main cause for that year.
The psi is 43, brand new spark plugs, wires, air filter. We checked them and they are fine.
This is for Carlene: We switched power packs and everything else possible. We also have another 95 Camaro and it runs. So please help!!!!!!
No cap or rotor on 95 v-6... coil packs good... Do you have spark? if not, ignition module under coil packs or crank sensor... Ya know what, it would be better just to call me. for security reasons, friend me on FB. My cell # is on my profile. I've rebuilt three 3.4ltr v-6's and messaging takes too long... :-)
Can you take your air intake breather off and leave the mass air flow sensor in place Spray some carb cleaner down it while someone else tries to start it. If it starts while that is being sprayed your not getting fuel. I knw you said you replaced the fuel pump. But if the injectors are not pulsating its not getting fuel. If thats the case your going to need a noid light to test them out. Also check all the wiring and make sure nothing is loose to injectors also. A ground can be an enemy and not let them fire also.
As Chris was saying about Module under coils if the carb cleaner dont work on that test. Take the module down to any parts store they can test that for free to at least eleminate that question
i will go with chris
Does it crank but not start or when you turn key is do you hear a clicking noise if nothing happens at all when turning key to start position or it just clicks you may have a bad starter or your battery is not supplying enough power to the starter make sure your battery has 10 -12 volts 12 volts is best but you need at least 10 volts if battery is good then check your starter. You said you have air fuel and fire which is great but if the starter is no good or underpowered it will not start and yes even if you have spark - spark is high voltage but has little amps your starter however will need high amperage . Something to check hope it helps
I replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs & wirings, disturb & rotors, water pump, new battery,.. I notice no gas in carburetor and starter died...1979 Camaro z28
