Water pump

Asked by Daniel Jun 25, 2015 at 09:56 PM about the 1995 Chevrolet Camaro

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just bought a 95 3.4l 6cyl camaro and my
cousin just replaced the water pump. I
drove it and water was all over all pullys
near water belt and I'm wondering if it's just
a bad pump or not. Also the pully on the
pump which I'm told is a separate part is
loose, could the loose pully cause the pump
to go out?

check the gasket, pulley needs to be tightened, and I know they do leak if the belt is to tight.

Agree with KB1212,the pulley being loose can vibrate the pump and make it leak and go bad,all so as KB said,if the pulley is loose, then there may be bolts in the pump loose all so.
