Would the crankshaft position sensor affect the fuel pump performance on a 1992 Chrysler fifth avenue?

To the best of my knowledge the sensor is just 1 input on the ECM algorithm that uses outputs from many other sensors (MAF, Throttle Position etc) the main control of the fuel pump is a pressure cut off used to maintain pressure in the fuel rails ... lots happening but IMO the fuel pump is a digital device ( either X or O) with no function controlled by the Crankshaft position sensor
