Is the Audi R8 too fast for Porsche's CEO?

Asked by Greg Feb 20, 2009 at 08:02 PM about the Audi R8

Question type: General

The CEO of Porsche is considering halting production of the Audi R8 because its faster than his Porsche 911, especially now that the R8 is rumored to be coming out with a V-10.
(Unless I'm mistaken, Porsche owns VW which owns Audi).
Now this is just something I heard on an internet car show...and I doubt that he's really going to do that, and if he did, he would never be able to leave his house(s) again. ;)

I can believe it. The Carrera GT was halted because Piech didn't want competition for the R8 at the time, supposedly. So maybe they'll can R8 and bring it, or another super exotic, into the Porsche lineup, now that the shoe is on the other foot so to say.
