Please identify your vehicle fully, and ask a question about your concern, or tell what it has been doing or what is going on with its repair needs. Having symptoms, and perhaps a narrative can get you an accurate response, but it is required that you give the year and engine displacement or name. Trans concerns are often best addressed by transmission shops or your dealer. adding fluid is really all you should attempt in the event it was low. You check it running, in park, at operating temperature. park the vehicle on the level, and clean the dipstick, remove and wipe off , then reinsert to measure the level.
2002 Chevy impala, tranny slips from 2-3 but then gets there and is fine. Was told was my tranny solenoid. Trying to add some Lucas but can't figure out where to drain some of the fluid from.
Some trans can be opened in the cooler line for removal of fluid. A suction gun is used by a professional. A slip in a trans, and a shudder in a trans are two different things, delayed engagement and delayed upshift are different. if you run service codes and get one for a 2-3 shift soleniode ? that is a good clue. But a speed sensor or turbine speed sensor can equally mess up the normal shift feel and timing of the shift. A trans fluid change is like an oil change in that you must meet the interval for mileage...every 30 K. I recommend evaluating it at a trans shop. Accurately diag without tampering with evidence by adding love juice. Then you can affect it with additives based on what actually is wrong. A slip in one trans versus another does not compare until both are diagnosed. That includes inspection of the discharge into the pan.
Newer trans. in use today have lighter and weaker parts. The additives for slippage cannot cover up a failing part with thwe same success they once had, but shudder eliminator can help a torque convertor shudder. You see, it really depends what it is found to be, before disturbing a connection. that can start a new leak. They need to look at it first.
