Any fix for S-tronic shift?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an Audi A5 2.o T Quattro S-tronic, which is really nice and good in many ways. The only problem is that the S-Tronic
gearbox malfunctioning bad at low speeds. Eg when I run up to 70 km per hour and come to the roundabout and must slow down,
but not stop, at the recent gas and run, I get no response in the gas, because the gearbox is still in the 3rd or 4th gear. Some
times it's been really close to get run over by another car. According to Audi, this is normal and nothing wrong !!??!! How can
Audi call themselves a premium brand, saying that such behavior on a car is normal?

i have the same problem in my 2009 A4. I have been in several near accidents because the transmission is in the wrong gear. i complained to the dealer about this several times.. finally they did some type of software upgrade in the transmission.. and it helped but, it is still far from safe. instead of using "D", i often drive in "S".. but the problem is now, that when driving slowly, the transmission doesn't want to shift from 2nd to 3rd.. so 2nd gear winds out.. I often use the paddle shifter to move it to 3rd gear manually. such a disappointment. i should've gotten a true automatic.. or gotten the BMW 3-series instead.. good luck with your problem.. i hope audi addresses this somehow.

I have a 2010 A4 quattro s tronic , and now all off a sudden the gears have a 3 sec delay before shifting at high rpm , when driving slow ander 4000rpm no problems , but when U putts your foot down then between 1 to 2 and to 3 it has a 3 sec delay at 4500rpm before shifting , almost like it missis or the timing is out , the timing chain was done around 1000km back and a new turbo was fitted , is this cluct , gearbox or turbo or timing problems

I have a 2010 Audi A5 3.0 TDI Sportback. Stronic started to be problematic at 117,000km. It received an upgrade by Audi then but packed up at 148,000km. The quote to repair the mechatronics and clutch is R116,000, 65% of the vehicle's trade value. I requested financial assistance from Audi but was given a cold shoulder. Stronic problems are well documented especially in the early models and I believe some re-calls have been made in certain countries. Not in South Africa. I had 5 Audi's since 2002 but will never purchase another. Great vehicles with unreliable Stronic gearboxes and Audi South Africa leaving you in the cold when they could and should have rectified the problem years ago.
