good afternoon, I'm from portugal and I'm using the translator may have some

  I have a problem with an audi a5 3.0 tdi
I bought an audi a5 3.0 tdi but the car did not pick up, I measured the
compression ratio of the engine and it gave different in all the cylinders, in a
cylinder even to zero, I started to disassemble and I noticed that there are
marks on the piston of the valves to have touched the piston so there may be
the hypothesis of having valves empenadas, I think they mounted the
distribution out of point and tried for the car to work and I do not know if for
having tried for the car to work with the distribution out of point if it affected
the cames or only affects the valves, does anyone know what can be treated?

Si el distribuidor de electricidad fue montado mal, el motor funciono fuera de tiempo y si continuo asi por kilometros, las valvulas se doblaron. La desigualdad en compresion entre los cilindros indica que, las valvulas de admision como las de escape, no se asientan correctamente. Usted dice que ha empezado a desarmar el motor, mi recomendacion, por experiencia personal, es que haga una reparacion completa de las valvulas para evitarse mayores porblemas. Inspeccione bien los pistones y fijese que todos los anillos de compresion esten bien, si no es asi, vale la pena reponerlos ahora. Espero esto le sirva de alguna ayuda.

¿existe la probabilidad de que las cames estén dañadas por haber puesto el motor fuera de punto?

Pedro, si te refieres a los vastagos (levas) que mueven las valvulas, es posible que no esten dañados. Si el motor funciono por tiempo o muchos kilometros con las valvulas despues que se doblaron, puede haber dañado el (los) arbol de levas (cames o camshafts en ingles) debido al continuo golpeo contra las levas al tratar estas de mover las valvulas.

Pedro, hable hoy con mi amigo que es supervisor de mecanica en la agencia VW-Audi local y me dice que si los cames (camshafts) no estan doblados, no es necesario cambiarlos; con un papel de lija suave se debe limar los puntos donde hacen contacto con las valvulas y funcionaran bien.
