Truck loses throttle performance when pulling a camper

Asked by GuruL7Q42 May 01, 2019 at 07:25 PM about the GMC Sierra 1500

Question type: General

GMC Sierra loses performance when
pulling a heavy load like a camper.
Otherwise it runs great. Changed
both O2 Sensors  & Throttle position
sensor. Still does it.  Acts like there's
no pedal until it is almost floored.

The truck pulled this camper fine last summer/fall with a golf cart & load of wood in the pickup box. Now it acts up with just the camper.

Iv had that same issue since I bought my last few gmcs. The first was a rocky ridge 2015. Sad thing is I hated that truck when I first got it just because it didn’t have enough power. Wish I had programmed it like I did the the 2014 I got now, and maybe I wouldn’t have so many infractions on my license. Or I’d have a life sentence???? Most likely, so glad I don’t drink and drive anymore.

Anyways I’m saying all I put into my gmc Was a cold air intake and an exauste/ pgogramer cheaper plug in one lost high end power. I used to b able to hit 130 like it was nothing after programming it I lost top end speed witch was a max of 132 before I ran outta road. But now I’m down to 125.. with plenty of road to go. Iv spent the last two years not driving knowing that I’m gonna lose it for another 3⛄️ ☃️
