Ive been looking to buy this 66 fairlane. However im really suspicious. It has only one headlight on ea side instead of stacked headlights. Did ford make a seacial model with singal headlight. It has 289 4 spd. Asking like 10500.00..ive looked all over internet cant find one like it. Kinda looks just like a falcon or comet grill front end?. Was there such a car..

the 66 Comet had stacked headlamps as well. It sounds like it is a Falcon, not a Fairlane. If it were a wagon, it could be accident damage and someone changed front clips, since the wagons shared a body shell. Otherwise, the Fairlane is longer in the wheelbase than the Falcon. The Fairlane was pretty slab sided. The Falcon had an arrow-like cove running the length of the car. What body style is it?

I forgot to mention the sure fire way to tell the difference between the 3 models. Look at the brake lamps. The Falcon had one round on each side. The Fairlane had vertical rectangles, and the Comet had horizontal breke lamps that wrapped around the corners of the car.

Your Answer:

Fairlane
