Question type: General

I just bought a 1969 convertible. It looks like a Torino Gt, but the Vin says it
is a Fairlane 500. I'm ok with that, as there were less of them made anyway.
It has bucket seats and according to the production numbers I have found,
there were only 212 made. It also has a 302 (w/pwr steering & per front disc
brakes), correct for the vin (F code) and a 4 spd manual with the console.
Since most of the Fairlanes had the 260 straight 6 with a 3 spd manual, I
guessing this could possibly have the potential for being a 1 of very few..
maybe 1 of 1? it is the Burgundy with a black interior. Where can I find info
on how many of these cars would have had a V8 4spd?

The Fairlanes came with just about every engine Ford made including the big block 428. I would thing that one with a 302 would be common. It is possible that someone dressed up your car as a Torino GT which is a common practice with vintage cars but the Torino was just a variation on the Fairlane so it is possible that your car is a Torino afterall. You could try the Marti report.

The warranty plate indicates that the paint and interior color are correct. Nice Find!
