I have a 2007 Yukon XL with like over to hundred thousand miles. The oil
pressure went down and the light came on saying stop engine. no noises,
plenty of oil, no other problems. shop changed the sending unit. he said
pressure was still low, but the light stayed off for awhile. then came back on.
I put 10 40w oil in it and it went away. i can watch the gauge move but never
going above 40. now its back on and barely goes up at all. what next.

I would remove the pressure sensor again and then take a coat hanger and run it down the hole. You will feel it bottom out. This is actually an online screen and will get caked with debris blue cling oil to the sensor for a pressure reading. You can take the coat hanger and break out the screen and REI stall the screen. This was a bad design by gm and is a very common problem.
