In 2001 Eldorado, how do I replace the lights that illuminate the "fuel door" and the "trunk" switches?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

at the very top of the center console, there is a panel that covers the "trip reset", "info reset", "Info", "fuel door", and "trunk" buttons. How do you remove this panel to replace the lights illuminating each of these buttons.

You would have to study how its attached, if any screws visible they must come out, some panels push on and snap in place some screws are hidden under dash vent grilles that pop out. never changed one on that model

The entire assembly pops out of the dash by prying gently with a flathead screwdriver. Unfortunately, it appears to be a sealed unit that needs replacement. There does not seem to be a way of just replacing the lamps.
