1995 Taurus hard shift on incline

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi my 1995 Taurus (3.0 litre V-6) is having an issue where when I come to a
complete stop on an upward incline (stop sign on a hill) and then start to
proceed again it seems to slip for half a second and then engages
again...hard. I have also noticed when driving the car through a roundabout
that when the wheel is cranked to the far left or right the transmission seems
to slip a little but it fine once the wheel is straightened out again...not sure if
the two issues are related or not. Other than the issues I described I have no
problems with the transmission performance...any idea of what could be
causing this?

check tranny fluid , it should be at the proper level and nice and pink . If it smells burnt drop the pan and change the filter and fluid , that car pretty old the tranny may be on it's way out
