Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car has died and sputtered and the coolant
overheated  all the  way home  the next day I
changed the altenator and spark plugs because
there was some liquid on them and I was
suggested to get them replaced so I  did so and
car is not turning over but it  sounds like it want to
but no avail I tried to jump start it and once it
cranks over it dies immediately under a minute
sprayed starter fluid to get it started but like I said
it dies down I kinda thinking replace battery since
I've checked  and the starter is seems to be doing
its part but it gave me hell the night before  with
pinging and knocking all the way home until it died
out and I got a jumpstart to get it further

I don't want to waste your time by throwing a bunch of useless guesses at you, without knowing what is going on with the motor or it's overall condition. If this motor has high miles on it, it may be just about done. You'll need to check timing, sensors (crank, knock, cam, etc.), trouble codes, throttle body and injectors, fuel pressure, and check for signs the motor is toast - cylinder compression, Block Tester, leak down test, etc. The knocking and pinging may have been the timing chain going but again, all we can do is guess based on your brief description.

I don't proclaim to know anything about cars but I had the same problem, and also installed a new alternator and plugs and it turned over but wouldn't start. I went and changed the idle air control valve and it started right yo. Worth a try. Good luck
