2019 Genis trunk

On the trunk lid when you open it there is a small triangula
attachment that sits over a rectangular inset - it has a clip
and folds down but we cannot figure out what it’s purp is?
Not addressed in the owners manual

It's for holding a folding triangle warning sign. It's mandatory in Europe, if you're in the USA you apparently don't get the sign itself, although with trunk lid fully open the bracket can still act as a reflector.

Edit for above, guess the reflectors on the sign not the bracket. If you don't want to wait for Hyundai to furnish it you can pick one up like other owners are doing: https://genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showthread.php?13698-Bracket-in-trunk-lid
