Dear maryws I purchased a 1995 BMW 318ti 2 years ago with 108K miles on it. It still runs like a top. However, I've had many secondary problems with the car. Door handle mechanism breaking, door panels which won't re secure, remote side mirror control. My point is, BMW's run well but you can expect to pay through the nose for parts and service.

with all that milage on it it will be a risk purchasing a bmw as parts are very expensive. and you would expect it to start cuasing problems at that age and milage.

All depends on how the car has bewen used through its life, long journeys or short if the car has been serviced regulary through out its life it could go on over 400000 miles although you will get a lot of wear and tearalthough if you unsure haglle on the price....
