where is the hood release?

I need to find the hood release on a 98 7series.Can anyone please help me?Thanks Pat

Its located on the left lower kick panel next to the dead foot rest should have a black handle.

    nothing happens when hood latch or inside latch is pulled. Heard left side grill has to be cut to pull cable for right side latch and cable behind left headlight has to be pulled for left side latch...
