my ford bantam 1.3 rocam engine

struggles to starts ,when it does it idles and then when the engine is warm it
switches off and then battles to start again ,i thought it was the fuel pump but its
working

If it cranks and then battles to start, Check that the starter selonoid cable is not running in the same plastic channel as the crank angle sensor. The high voltage from the selonoid cable induces a high voltage into the low voltage sensor wiring. Separate these two sets of wires. Check also the battery earth cable and the starter amperage draw on the main battery positive cable.
