Bantam Increases rev's by itself!
My Ford Bantam 1.3 2008 Model has a nasty problem... The rev's pick up by itself. It normaly iddles at about 1200 Rev's it goes up to almost 4000 by itself. This problem started after heavy rains. Does any one have a solution for me? The other question I have is, can I reset my computer system in the bantam without the software? The ford dealer did this and it was right afterwards. The only problem is, the closest dealer to me is very far. If any one can help me I would appreciate it!
Kind Regards,

Howzit Raygrob, have you resolved your idle problem yet by replacing the Throttle Position Sensor, or do you simply battery reset your Bantam every time. I'm just curious as a friend of mine has the same problem as yours and there seems to very little issues listed on the net.

Hi Papa, do you know what the TPS volts specs should be for a 2011 ford Bantam 1.3i?
Any small workshop should have basic scanning tools to clear the fault codes. On these vehicles, sometimes if there are NO fault codes, still clear them and let the engine idle for a while. It could sort the problem out. There is only one person in South Africa how can re-flash the program in these PCMs and he is in Pretoria. If required , they can be re-flashed to the latest level.
Hi, Can i get the persons numbers please
Our Number is :0820606425. First take your vehicle to a workshop that has a scanning tool. Coachmans in Centurion is : 012-6536689. Try this guy
Remove air filter. While engine is running spray some carb cleaner into the air intake. Normally it cleans the sensor. Resolved my ideling issue on 2007 batam 1.6

I have a similar problem Ford bantam idles OK but when the engine temp goes up the rpm pics up 3000 to 4000 rpm I had the throttle body off cleaned and checked everthing and assembled again it wouldn't start I then pulled plugs I could clearly see the cylinders were flooded left them open and started again after a few tries and my foot down on the accelerator it stated but idles at 2500 rpm now when it reached temp I shut the engine off now it won't start again with the engine hot

I would recommend to first check for Fault codes in the system. If its the Euro 2 system, that is after 2007 and has the Oxygen sensor, This could be an oxygen senor proble. Even if there are no codes in the system, clear them. Clean the spark plugs and set them to 1.3mm.
