If the engine will not crank. Check the LED next to the clock. Does it come on for two to three seconds or does it flash quickly. If it flashes quick, it will then flash up a fault code, a long flash the short flashes, '1' to '5'. In this case as with the LED staying on, the PCM or Computer Box will need repair. There is someone in Pretoria who repairs them. Remove the Computer Box, The Key reader and the two keys. The person who repairs them is on (South African Phone number) : 0820606425

Did you drop the ignition key at any stage. a code 13 indicates – Non-PATS key or damaged encoded ignition key, or no key code received. Vehicle does not start. The PCM is not receiving a signal from the PATS Key. It could be that the transmitter in the key is damaged. The Transmitter can be replaced. We repair these systems. We are based in the Pretoria area in South Africa. Phone me at : 0820606425.

Check the condition of the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor. With the Ignition Switch turned to ON and disconect the ECT Sensor on the Thermostat housing, and the cooling fan will come on. Its part of the default system. Check also the condition of the wiring harness between the PCM and the cluster. At the engine idle the engine will have a slight miss fire every seven seconds. If this happens there will be a communication problem between the PCM and Cluster. Perform a cluster self test on the cluster. : Ignition OFF, Press the ODO Trip button and hold it in and switch the Ignition switch to ON and hold, till the LCD on the ODO displays TEST, The RPM and Speedo will go to full clock sweep.

I have a ford fiesta rocam and it won't start at all. The light flashes 1 and 5 so I take it that it is a code 15 what would this mean just had the whole motor redone

A code 15 from the LED by the clock meams that the keys need to be coded to that Computer system. Normally at this car's age the PCM need attention, but try haveing the ignition keys coded first.

Soulds like a problem with the Power Hold Relay. This relay is located in the Central Junction Box where the interior fuses are located. Remove the screws from the fuses box area, right side under the dash, the whole junction box will drop down. This fuse is one of the small brown relays to the center right. Swop these relays arround. Also check the wires and cables to and from the battery are clean and secured as well as the cable/ harness at the starter selonoid switch.

With a vehicle that has a computer box, you have to be very careful when 'Jump Starting' . It the engine is not cranking when the key is turned to start, it could well be that the computer box is damaged and needs repair. I would take your vehiocle to a reputable auto electrician and have him check it over first. It could be something small.

What is the Immobilizer light doing ? Does it come on and go out after about two seconds as it should ? Does this Light stay on all the time ? or does it not come on at all ? or does it flash very quickly and then flash up a code ? Remember the key does not loose it's code ? Does the engine not crank when the weather is Damp ?

What is the Immobilizer light next to the clock doing ? Does it come on when the ignition is switched ON and go OFF after two seconds ? Does it not come on at all ? Or does it stay on and not go off ? or does it flash quickly and flash up codes after that ? This is what the flash codes operate for Fault finding : When you switch the ignition to the ON position the Light next to the clock (Immobilizer Warning light) comes ON and then goes OFF. This shows that the system is OK If the Light flashed quickly and then switches OFF and starts flashing a "1" or a "2" and switches OFF and the starts to flash um a "1" to "6" , or say 1 3 or 86

On Ford Bantam there is a big secret to those who fix the problem where people they waste money. As I am saying I can tell you that even the transceiver it also have a fault sometimes especially when it stays on without blinking or when it stays on even for a whole day. It is just the matter of replacing another transceiver than taking the whole thing to the expert.

If the Immobilizer light stays ON all the thime, its not the transceiver but the computer box its self. We have been repairing these units for many years now and have a high success rate. Transceivers, like the computer boxes are obsolete, but we can make up new computer boxes. In the caseof the Euro 2 Transceiver's we are even battling to get second hand ones. In such cases we can over ride the system, but we dont do it through the EEPROM. If this is done through the EEPROM, the engine will perform upto 25 key starts then revert back to the Immobilized state. We have done quite a few of these so far.

I just bought another transponder for my 2010 Ford bantam but still the car is not starting,is there a procedure for installation?

1 people found this helpful.
16,945

On these vehicles the Keys are coded to the Transceiver (or Key reader) first. Once the keys are coded to the key reader then the Computer box will be coded. The older Ford Dealers should have the equipment to code the, or you can bring the Computer box, key reader and keys and we can code them. Our phone and whatsapp number is : 0820606425.

Hey Can anyone please tell me where is the immobilizer located on a ford bantam 1.3 2003 model?

16,945

The Immobilizer is part of the Computer box (PCM). It was designed like that acording to Ford Specifications. The Transceiver or Key reader and the transponder or chip in the ignition key is part of the system. Almost all of the time over time water or moisture has got into the system that causes the engine not to crank or start. The LED next to the clock is not only for the Immobilizer , but a seft test for the computer box as well.

my 2006 ford bantam 1.6i crank but doesnt start and only some cluster lights are on

16,945

Check all the fuses and relays . Cranks, but does not start. The starter solenoid wire is running in the same channel as the crank angle sensor. When the starter solenoid is energized this induces a higher voltage into the crank angle sensor wiring. Move this solenoid wire out of the crank angle sensor wiring channel. Check the condition of the main starter cable from the battery to the starter. Clean the terminals and the amperage draw on this cable. Check the earth cable from the battery negative to the body and fit an extra earth cable from the battery Neg terminal to the gearbox. Check also the Camshaft Position Sensor and the wiring. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9lcijU_9oM
