how do i remove the sump off a 2006 1.8i diesel ford bantam

all bolts have bee removed  te sump is loose and moves around but its as if something is keeping it from coming down.

dont want to give you bad news but did find its easier to remove the engine, then doing the sump

It is the oil pump, it is most likely caught in the oil pan's internal baffle- try to find a way to move the pan forward, or backward, or whichever way it won't move to clear it- you might have to undo the motor mounts and slightly lift the drivetrain- this might get you around removing the engine-

There are two bolts that on under a ring gear which u can't see easy.

Lol. You need to remove the gearbox there are 3 screws which you'll only get access when you remove the gearbox
