Overheating

Asked by GuruBYJ7S Dec 15, 2018 at 05:24 AM about the Ford Bantam

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Ford Bantam 2008 is overheating since I purchased it 2nd hand. Changed
bottle/thermostat/head gasket and now found the radiator fan is pushing air
instead of pulling. How can I change direction electrically as manually it can't be
done

It must not be the original replacement. The easy way is to cut the wires and switch the polarity to reverse the motor. Not all motors do that but this one will, being a DC motor.

You might also be able to pull off the fan blade and flip it over to reverse the air flow. Most people aren't observant enough to even notice what you did.

I would suggest you take your Bantam to a reputable auto electrician to check this out. It sounds like someone has fooled arround with the wiring.
