Pt cruiser 2007 keeps running hot I can hear water gurgling in the over flow. The radiator cap was replaced and the thermostat. When I turn on the air I do see that the fan is running. I do not have any white smoke or water coming out of the tail pipe nor is my oil a milky color. What else could the problem be?

It could be the relay for the fan. If you drive down the road it should get cool. If not you may have a bad water pump. The water pump has a outlet on it to tell you if its bad. If water runs out of it it's bad then you must change the thermostat because it will stick.. Hope this helps.
We had the same problem...after fixing everything around it - we found that it was the radiator.

Like said above it's probably the relay. A lot of cars with electrical fans usually have two speeds for the fan . Regular speed and a higher speed once the engine gets to a certain temp. The fuses can be fried or go bad sometimes you can wiggle the fuse around and the high speed will kick on . Worst case scenario there could a problem with your cars computer . I had a previous car that the computer was fried so it kept burning out fuses and eventually melted the bottom of a fuse box . Best bet is to take it in to a work from home mechanic and they will most likely find problem and fix it vs a large branch where they overcharge for even inspecting
I just solved this problem with mine. This is what I was up against. While the vehicle idled setting in the drive way the temp. would go up the gauge a little more than half way, but if I drove it about a city block or less it would Max out the temp. gauge. I changed the Thermostat did not fix the problem fans are working how there supposed to, no water in the oil, Radiator is not leaking and water is moving fine, Water Pump not leaking BUT, after I went over everyone a few more times I finally broke down and pulled the Water Pump off and there the problem was, the pump has an impeller on it that circulates the water and that broke apart from the water pump shaft changed the water pump problem solved. Changing the Water Pump is no joke it's a Payne need lots of patients but you can do it if need be. Hope this makes since -Tom
