06 non turbo switched for turbo block w/o turbo..will it work

Asked by ved51 Nov 16, 2015 at 08:24 PM about the Chrysler PT Cruiser

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

non turbo engine no good. used the long block from turbo engine. swapped all necessary parts from non turbo. will it work?

1 Answer

Maybe but check the compression ratios as they may not be the same. I think the turbo has 8/1 and the non-turbo is 9.5/1. You will lose power and gas mileage running the low compression short block.
