is it possible for someone to brake the motor mount while changing the starter on a 2005 Pacifica

Motor mounts are squishy with rubber...anything can cause them to split~ if they are lifting the car by jacking up the oil pan, the mounts would be stressed, but should compress and stretch without problems...not quite sure of your geometry, most likely your wrencher did not take off parts for clearance...Chrysler is famous for that....with the PT cruiser, lordy how, you gotta tear down the whole front end to change a thermostat...suspect LAZY mechanic who is unwilling to rise to the occasion~
