Does the beetle use any type of electrical operating systems? And if so, what?
I have been hearing alot about a possible EMP attack on our environment. If that happens, all electrical devices (which means all current model cars will not operate) will cease to exist. I was wondering if I should invest in an older model Beetle ? Would it run with a EMP in place? Any help you can give me would be great!

You will not have an electric motor without a magnetic field being introduced hence your EMP~
You'd be wiser to invest the money in non-perishable food, drinking water/filter, and non-GMO crop seeds....but if you really want to be mobile during the Apocalypse, get a spare starter, alternator, and coil (and ECU(s) if a newer car) and store them in a metal box wired to earth ground. When the EMP hits, swap these parts into your vehicle and drive away.

A lightning bolt is the highest order of electromagnetic attack---scared now?
