Would it be a bad idea to try to drive a new purchased beetle 1500 miles?

Asked by drewbeard Oct 05, 2015 at 03:36 PM about the Volkswagen Beetle

Question type: General

I'm considering purchasing a mid 70's beetle in Kansas City when I return for
the holiday season and then driving it back to Miami. If I'm looking at a beetle
with rebuilt engine, everything works, etc., is this still a horrible idea?

No why would it be terrible to drive the car home. If you want to be safe is they any way to drive the car on secondary roads home. Just in case something happens to go and it may be safer then driving at highway speeds for long period of time. If you don't trust it, have the car shipped home...
