VW beetle convertible

I have 2015 beetle convertible. The top goes up and down but i keep getting a
msg on my dash that says "close convertible top ". Its appears on both, up or
down.

There must be a switch/switches that close or open when the top is raised or lowered. Find it and either adjust it or replace it. Check the wiring to it as well.
