On most new cars the transmission dipstick is history. Auto makers got tired of well-meaning owners screwing up their transmission by topping off fluid at the wrong temp or putting in the wrong fluid. You get the part that lets you do your own tranny fluid or take it to a shop for servicing. Some automakers will say the tranny doesn't need fluid checks unless you see an actual problem or until its specified service interval (like 75K miles or so).
