2011 GMC Terrain sputtering and sometimes a hesitation on acceleration

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2011 GMC Terrain has 96,000 miles. I get regular oil changes and use
recommended gasoline brands only   Lately my car has been doing a "sputter"
when turning the car off. Also sometimes there is a lag upon acceleration. I
went to get a tune up but was given the 100,000 mile response and told to bring
back closer to the 100,00 miles. What can this issue be?

Would that also account for the extra "sputter" when turning the the car off?
