Noise in rear of 350z

I have a intermittent buzzing/mechanical type noise coming from passenger rear side of the car. Happens about every 20 seconds. No warning lights on dash, not running rough, not going thru gas, starts as it should and not difference in performance. What could this be?

Possibly an exhaust heat shield rattling and / or buzzing. Raise the car on a lift and use a rubber mallet to beat on different exhaust and suspension parts to help isolate the problem. It could be something else, but this is where I'd start. Noises are difficult to diagnose via the internet.
