The Impala has 3 actuator motors. 2 are behind the glove box door and can be easily replaced by dropping the glove box door. one is the blend door for the outside air and recirculate air, the other is the passenger temp. actuator motor. The one that sounds like the clicking is coming from the center of the dash is the drivers side temp. actuator motor. This is a VERY common problem with the Impala. The gears in the motor are plastic and usually 2or 3 teeth break off causing the LOUD clicking noise. I have had to replace all 3 in my 2011 Impala. This one is very hard to get to. You have to remove the panel under the steering wheel and look up towards the center of the dash and that is where it is located. You can purchase the motors at most any parts store like Advance or O'Reilly auto parts. I have had to replace the drivers side once and the 2 behind the glove box 2 times each on my 2011. Hope this helps
