If it was my vehicle I'd replace the rack/pinion. Will that definitely fix it, I can't be sure? In the old days, that was morning problem with steering. The more you drove the vehicle during the day and everything warmed up, the problem might go away. Then the next morning, the same thing. Just my opinion.
