Is this the car above, there are many models? Convertible, and others are MUCH higher? What's the asking price?? If it were me, I'd be VERY careful, Jaguars have been known in the past for costing a lot in maintenance? Maybe this is not an issue since Ford purchased them and I don't recall when that was. Also, a 2000 car with less than 20,000 miles always makes me suspect, but, hey, that's just me.
This particular vehicle is the base convertible. The Carfax record is extensive showing the mileage to be correct (as far as I can tell). The dealer has offered to sell for $15K out the door. I've checked NADA, KBB, Edmunds, and AutoTrader getting market values from $9K to $11.1K. I'm prepared to go higher -- just don't really know how much higher. I like the car; don't necessarily know if I'll love it. Thanks for the input.
KBB, NADA and Edmunds aggregate their used car values based on past sales, so something like your 2000 XK8, which looks like a very low-mileage one-owner car can be expected to fetch more than it's blue book value. But being s trade-in, the dealer doesn't have a lot into it, so start haggling.
They are going to have at least a 20% markup on the car. Make your offer accordingly.
