short circuit

Hi. i have a toyota camry Le 1998 4L. 2.2  i  just install new battery and new
alternater.and i check the output of the alternator it was 14,5V.so i took the
car for a drive with in 2 miles distenes.my radar detector in my car tellin me
the battery volteg is low but the alternater warnig light does not come ON.I
was able to get back home and test the alternator with voltmeter with engine
runing it read 11.5 volt. so  i replace the alternator with a new one and check
the voltag while the engine  runing  it read 11.5 volt .when this happen the
power window and temperature gauge and speedometer gauge and
odometer stop displaying and the dome light and the alternatar and  engine
light in the dashboard all these componnt stop working.so i check the fuse
box under the dashboard i found the 10A fuse for (Gauge) blownout i
replaced the 10a fuse with a new one.so the fuse blownout again.now i know
i have short or hot wires grounded.an i did another test i disconnet the cable
on + positive side of the battery  and i connect test light betwean the +cable
and + side of the battery.the light on the tester turn on. it that mean i have
short some.pleaee i need help if any one can thanks

If this just started when you replaced the battery and the alternator you should probably focus on the wiring you worked with to do this. Maybe you have a lead connected backwards or clamped in a way that is touching a ground wire or a part of the chassis. I will assume the main battery leads are connected properly (+ and -). Check the wiring harness in the left side(driver side) TRUNK area. You might have to remove some panels. The harness is attacked to the left trunk hinge and over the years the wires break and short out. Get back to us with results.

HI.i check both way.but i don,t find any thing wrong with the wire or short or hot ground.i foud out the after market remote start keyless entray was the problm grounding hot wire to ground and causing the 10 AMP gauge fuse to blowout .so i took out the alarms system and i connect the wireg to the original wiring diagram.after all this everything back to normal.thank you all
