Short

My Toyota Camry 98 has a short some where its
pulling the power from the battery I will be driving
then out of no where the rpm gauge drops the
doesn't want to go all the dash lights are dim once
I stop and turn it off it won't start back up until I let
it cool down then I have to jump it so the car
running on the battery right could it be an after
market stereo shorting it out

It's an old car , a diligent visual check of the wiring may be the answer , try a parasitic draw test , search "parasitic draw "
